Yung Chih Teng is a dance artist from Taiwan, born in Taoyuan. Her practice spans dance, interdisciplinary practice, and curatorial approaches.
Through embodied practice, and site-responsive exploration, she is interested in how art can become a space for encounter, exchange, and the cultivation of relationships.
She began her dance training at an early age, studying ballet, contemporary dance, and Chinese dance. She graduated from the Department of Dance at the University of Taipei and later completed an MA in Expanded Dance Practice at the London Contemporary Dance School, UK.
During her studies in London, her long-term embodied research gradually converged into a choreographic practice grounded in encounters between the body, materials, and place.
In recent years, she has participated in performances, artistic creations, workshops, and interdisciplinary projects across Asia and Europe. Her practice explores how different forms of life come into relationship through shared experiences, and how these encounters foster mutual responsiveness and new ways of being together.
